Building a thriving community composting movement isn’t something any single organisation can achieve alone. It takes a network – a living, interconnected ecosystem of people and organisations working toward the same goal of supporting people and planet through the simple, transformative act of returning organic matter to the soil.
The real work of community composting happens on the ground in backyards, community gardens, school sites, and neighbourhood hubs across Australia. Today, we’re excited to announce our formal partnerships with three organisations – Community Gardens Australia, CORE and Peels.App! We are grateful to work alongside partners who share our values and help us reach more communities across Australia.
Our partners
Community Gardens Australia (CGA) is the peak body and networking organisation connecting community gardeners around Australia. Compost and gardens are inextricably linked and together, we’re working to ensure community gardens have the knowledge, resources, and support they need to manage organic nutrients on-site, to close loops, and build healthy soil for healthy communities.
Centre for Organic Research & Education (CORE) is a not-for-profit industry association whose mission is to enhance the beneficial re-use and upcycling of recovered resources in the circular economy. This partnership acknowledges that small-scale, community-led composting is essential infrastructure in Australia’s circular economy.
Peels is a platform connecting people with food scraps to those who can compost them. If someone has scraps, someone else has capacity, and a simple connection keeps organic nutrients out of landfill and cycling locally.
