YIMBY (Yes In My Backyard) is a community scale composting initiative that is having a real impact in the Mount Alexander Shire area. 

Started 5 years ago, this unique model, featured on Gardening Australia on 4 July 2025, is processing over 150 kgs of food scraps per week and aims to challenge industrial trends of removing organics from landfill by building skills and connections locally.

Webinar 1: YIMBY community compost model- The how, what and why of YIMBY.
